The vision of John Tutelian, Civic Center Square was established in 1976 with the adaptive rehabilitation of the historic Tulare Hotel into modern, highly efficient Class `A’ office space. In 1985 the vision continued with the opening of the well known and highly successful Galleria with its cluster of restaurants and retail services. From the 1970’s into the 1990’s, Mr. Tutelian expanded Civic Center Square with both rehabilitated historic buildings and new modern office buildings. The vision continued into the 2000’s with the construction of the 2440 Tulare Street Building and the Parking Pavilion and Shops. The Crescent Building opened in 2000 providing additional restaurants and retail services for Civic Center Square and the surrounding area.
